I had fun taping an interview with my student David Steinhardt for his series on ToneBase Classical Guitar Podcast. We got deep into the inspiration for and the meaning behind Sergio Assad’s “The Walls.”

Bill Kanengiser tells the thought-provoking story and inspiration behind a newly commissioned piece by Sergio Assad titled "The Walls." Over the course of four movements, this piece for solo guitar and guitar orchestra portrays four historic barriers that were once built to separate people - Great Wall of China, Hadrian's Wall, Berlin Wall, and Israeli West Bank Barrier.
